Ladies,

It is an honour to be standing as your Lady Captain for 2024.

I joined Warley’s ‘Get into Golf’ programme in 2017 as a total golf novice. I fell in love with the crazy game of golf and received my 1st handicap of 36 in January 2019.  Since then, it’s been a rather rapid handicap decrease!!  I have truly appreciated all the support received from various ladies in those early days transitioning from beginner to a fairly reasonable golfer now.  As your new Lady Captain I am looking forward to imparting the same support to all our lady players new and old…  We certainly have a wonderful Ladies Section and hope we can all support each other this year.

There have been many changes to Warley over the past few years and I truly believe our club will eventually benefit from all the improvements on and off the course.  I feel it is up to us collectively to make our golf experiences enjoyable.  As your Captain, I hope you feel you can approach me with any problems or comments you may have.

I am looking forward to a busy year, as usual, with lots of club competitions & team matches, and lots more ‘Fun’ golf comps which no doubt have been very popular with you all. Together with my Vice Captain, Karen Bailey, we hope to continue running these whenever possible.  Our Men’s Captain, Steve Abbott, and I have also planned several mixed fun comps.  I hope as many of our ladies will enter these where possible.

I hope to be able to play with as many of you over the coming year, and if anyone fancies a casual round of golf, I hope you will give me a text …

Ladies, together let’s embark on a year filled with camaraderie, laughter and unforgettable golf experiences.  Here’s to empowering each other on and off the course.
