LOCAL RULES

 

OUT OF BOUNDS Rule 18.2

 

Beyond white posts on practice field, putting green, patio, car park, practice field and right of the 9th (Warley) hole. Over any boundary fence or hedge bordering the course. On or over the shingle and driveway to the right of the 9th (Warley) hole.

 

PENALTY AREAS Rule 17

 

The lake across the 7th & 8th (Warley) holes, to the right of the 9th (Warley) hole are defined by the  natural margins of the hazard (except by the 8th (Warley) tee, which is defined by yellow stakes).

 

PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES Rule 16.1f

 

For the protection of young trees identified by stakes or white bands, the player must take relief as per Rule 16.1f.

 

TEES, TRENCHES & WHITE PAINT Rule 16.1

 

Areas marked with white paint and trenches filled with sand are “Ground Under Repair” and the player MUST tale relief as per Rule 16.1.

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS Rule 16.1

 

The following are immovable obstructions and are covered by Rule 16.1 of the Rules of Golf: The Wishing Well — Footbridges — Bench Seats — Leaderboards — Tee Marker Boards — Protective Netting — Cinder  Brokeshell or Stone Paths — Pip-up Sprinkler Heads and Manhole Covers — Cannon — 150-Yard Markers — Drainage Strip.

 

ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT OF A BALL ON A PUTTING GREEN

 

When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is not penalty if the ball or ball marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent or any of their caddies or equipment. The moved ball or ball marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2 and 20-1. This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental. Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause, such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES AS PER RULES OF GOLF Rule 14.3/0.5

 

These are allowed providing they measure distance only. Should a device measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14.3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether such additional functions are actually used.

 

WEDDING AREA ON WARLEY HOLE 9 TEMPORARY IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTION

 

On the right of the hole, a ball coming to rest inside the blue post marked area must be lifted and taken to the nearest of the two dropping zones provided, and dropped in the relevant zone, without penalty. If unable to find the ball, and it is known or virtually certain that the ball is within the area, a ball may be dropped in the nearer zone without penalty.

 

WINTER RULES — WHEN APPLICABLE THE FOLLOWING WILL APPLY

 

LOCAL RULE FOR PREFERRED LIES

 

A ball lying on a closely mown area through the green may, without penalty, be moved or may be lifted, cleaned and placed within six inches of where it originally lay but not nearer the hole and not in a hazard or on a putting green. A player may move or place the ball once and after the ball has been so placed it is in play.

 

Penalty for breach of Local Rule: Match Play — loss of hole; Stroke Play — Two strokes.

 

WARLEY HOLE 6

 

For course protection, if a ball comes to rest in the area marked by orange posts, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and replaced with twelve inches, not nearer the hole.

 

PLUGGED BALL

 

Plugged ball in the rough, lift, clean and drop, not nearer the hole.

 

FLAGSTICK

 

Do not attend the flagstick except in club competitions.
